Dark Knight Japanese B1 movie poster (featuring Heath Ledger as The Joker)
I’ll be posting all three of the B1 advance versions for The Dark Knight over the next three days. Up first is the most sought after, featuring Heath Ledger.

Rolling Stones Shine A Light Japanese B2 movie poster
I really like the collage design of this poster — what great material to work with, right? A legendary band documented by one of the all time genius directors… Definitely hard to get this one in any size — on matte stock with gold ink highlights.
Also a quick note — the Japanese Poster Gallery now has a Google Pagerank of 1!! Yes, out of 10, it only has a rank of 1, but it’s taken a lot of work to get out of the ZERO category. Good stuff, thanks to all who are linking here, whoever you are.

Rare Casino Royale Japanese B1 movie poster (Brioni variant)
Let’s start things back up with a bang, shall we?
Those of you that regularly read this blog understand that I am very hesitant to use the word “rare” when it comes to posters. However, in this case, I feel good about using the word — this is the only one I’ve seen and frankly that is not a surprise. Apparently, the story is that these variant posters were to be used in shops that carry Brioni in Japan. Now, I can’t imagine there are too many shops that carry these suits. And, I’m pretty sure that the people running those shops would not be particularly interested in movie memorabilia. For these reasons, I classify this is as rare and do not expect to see any more. How many shops could this possibly have been distributed to? 50? 100? I even think those numbers are too high.
Additionally, this double sided poster is on very heavy, ULTRA-glossy stock, almost with a vinyl feel on the front. Obviously very special.

Hi everyone
Sorry about the big delay and confusion in getting the site back up and running. I’m no longer a coding expert and getting into the guts of wordpress to figure out what the heck was going on was a daunting task. I’ve disabled a lot of functionality and will start putting things back together again, but SLOWLY.
In the meantime, get ready for an onslaught of posters every day, just like usual.
Kill Bill Advance Japanese B2 movie poster
This Kill Bill poster is not the rarest, but it is pretty scarce, especially these days. Like all the other Kill Bill material it keeps getting harder and harder to find with every passing year. Printed on matte stock. Some may disagree but I think this one is rarer than the Kill Bill 2 Bride style.

Lust, Caution (Se, jie) Japanese B1 movie poster
This is absolutely one of my favorites of anything in the last decade. To me it is quite similar in style to the ever-popular In the Mood for Love B1. Printed on matte paper with foil highlights.

Burn After Reading B1 size Japanese movie poster
As an esteemed poster colleague said recently, there is no other poster for Burn After Reading worth having! There is also a B2 with this same design.

Azumi (Aya Ueto) Japanese B1 movie poster
I really can’t get enough of this poster. It is truly striking and I’m very happy to post it here so I can look at it more often. This one is very tough to find, especially in the B1 size.
Be sure to click through to Flickr so you can see the poster in a bigger size.

Persepolis Japanese B2 movie poster
Excellent stylized art for Persepolis. I think this is a quintessential example of what’s good in modern Japanese poster design.
