This Kill Bill poster is not the rarest, but it is pretty scarce, especially these days. Like all the other Kill Bill material it keeps getting harder and harder to find with every passing year. Printed on matte stock. Some may disagree but I think this one is rarer than the Kill Bill 2 Bride style.

JAPANESE MOVIE POSTER INVENTORY UPDATE

Big post tonight. First, the poster above is for one of my favorite Japanese movies (although I’m no Japanese film scholar), Twilight Samurai. If you are a Japanese film neophyte, this one is very easy to watch, is not focused on swordplay, and is, yes, touching. Highly recommend this one as well as The Hidden Blade.

Perhaps I’m the only one that has been a) curious and b) ignorant about the meaning of “GW” on Japanese movie posters. See the Kill Bill Death List B1 poster above for an example of what I’m talking about. Anyone? Anyone?

Well, it means Golden Week, which is a week in Japan that contains several holidays. Apparently people take time off during this week to take advantage of the situation. I can imagine that this would be like a Memorial Day (USA) weekend all week.

So, mystery solved all you poster geeks! It’s a great indicator that it’s an advance poster and lets you know immediately that it’s a beginning of summer / holiday week movie (I would imagine usually a blockbuster type film).

Recent acquisition: Kill Bill 2 (Bride / Uma Thurman) B1 Japanese movie poster

Rounding out the Kill Bill collection, or rather my FORMER Kill Bill collection since another collector bought my Death List and 2 Pink Kill Bill 2 posters, is the B1 size “Bride” poster. This poster of course just keeps getting tougher and tougher to find. If you haven’t seen one in person it is a fantastic example of Japanese cinema paper, with thick matte stock and very high quality printing. It’s the dress!

This poster is right up there with the rarest of Kill Bill posters. From KB 2, this is the Death List obviously, and I only know of two other copies. Printed on matte paper and in the B1 size (~29″ x 40″).

Back from vacation and my family emergency… I thought I’d start back with an earthshattering post.

After looking for this poster for literally years, I finally got it. Anyone who knows Kill Bill will appreciate how difficult it is to find one of these… i.e., nearly impossible. This was the only one available and I don’t expect to find another for a long long time, if ever.
